Lydia Hicks

I am a developer, digital media artist, and graduate student based in Johnson City, TN, specializing in creating immersive, interactive experiences. As a generalist in visual effects (VFX), I handle a wide range of projects, from cinematography and compositing to creative consulting, motion graphics, and real-time VFX for games and film.

I received my B.S. in Digital Media with a concentration in VFX in 2023, with much of my undergraduate work focused on VFX and visualization-based disciplines. My work primarily includes compositing, motion graphics, photo manipulation, and vector-based imagery, with a strong emphasis on detail. Now pursuing an M.F.A. in Digital Media at East Tennessee State University, I also teach VFX as a graduate assistant, where I enjoy learning new techniques and sharing my knowledge with others.

In addition to working with tools like the Adobe Suite, TouchDesigner, and Unreal Engine, my current focus is exploring depth-sensing technology and real-time visualization for therapeutic applications. In my free time, I'm either at the gym, lounging with my cats, making pixel art, playing video games, or taking things apart to see how they work. I love experimenting with technology and always seek new ways to blend art and science in my projects.
